We don’t know what the political future holds for NYC - or for a Mamdani NYC, especially. The position itself demands compromises, survivalism, and always, assimilating into the very system for which reform is sought.
But what tonight made clear is this: the chokehold that accusations of “antisemitism” have held over critics of a genocidal, apartheid state has begun to break.
It is, of course, too late for Palestinians, who continue to be eradicated in every barbaric way possible. And electoral politics are not salvation - especially for them.
But there was, nevertheless, a significant message sent across this country tonight. Despite the machinery across every U.S. institution that has manufactured fear of “antisemitism” to obfuscate Israeli & American war crimes against the Palestinians, New Yorkers didn’t buy it.
