Everything I've seen about it indicates the RFID chip does not actually contain any personal identifiable info - it's basically just a unique identifier that links back to a specific record within UPS databases where the actual info is stored. So in your scenario if you reuse a package that has one of the RFID labels on it, someone would still have to have the proper equipment & access to UPS backend databases in order for that chip to give them access to any of the info from that prev shipment. I haven't heard of it causing damage to film or inks but don't hold me to that. :)

Anyone familiar with "RFID" tracking? Had it on @UPS packages. There's a chip inside the label??? Is it trackable after delivery? I sometimes reuse packaging, but don't want to violate privacy of recipients. Can the signal damage some items? (film, inks, etc.) @ValueAddedRS

~15 fraudulent UPS impersonation accounts responded &/or retweeted this post within just a few minutes. The fraud on here lately is like nothing I've seen before. And yesterday, *I* was locked out of Twitter for about an hour for violating something that they won't even specify!
