@RoninGreg @loic_na I love Twitter. You can have a relaxed, non-hostile conversation with someone and still be blocked. Enjoy your day, Greg!

@RoninGreg @loic_na Because there are little to no PASSENGER trains in America, so the majority of people are confined to a car. In Europe, trains are often faster, do not require the work of driving, and can be more convenient when traveling to major cities.

@RoninGreg @loic_na "Because everyone in America owns a car there is no demand for rail." While slightly lower, 75-80% of Europeans still own a car, yet there is still an almost equally high demand for trains.

@RedCree20264063 @loic_na You have it backwards. Because everyone in America owns a car there is no demand for rail. Yes we have high speed rail in America. It’s called Acela. It’s never turned a profit and it never will.

@RoninGreg @loic_na However, Europeans certainly can drive. I just finished a 4.5 hour road trip from Germany to Paris, and the drive was amazing. It's just that we have more options available.

@gamahipe @loic_na In Europe, we have highways that exceed yours in speed and quality. We also invented this car concept.

Actually they are already beyond that. They call them "cars". Big difference is that thing in the pic can only go, where tracks are already laid and you have to share it with anyone. A "car" can pretty much go and take you anywhere and you only have to deal with people you let it.

@loic_na Yeah a train. America is bigger than your contingent (excluding russia). I mean it’s an economy of scale- planes are faster and cheaper

@cedric_land @EuroWynner "Lets compare a country with 30 to 50 million illegals to a country with less than 5 million" Do you not give standardized licenses/tests like we do in Germany, so that dangerous illegals can't get a license without going through official documents? You're proving my point here.

@cedric_land @EuroWynner "Americans also spend FAR more time on the road than Germans do." Germans are also used to driving/being aware of significantly higher speeds than Americans, with higher driving densities. The Autobahn, despite having deadly speeds, is safer than US highways.

@cedric_land @EuroWynner Because Germans have to know how to drive? Let's compare accident rates between Germany and the USA

@BeltParkway @JaShermer @EuroWynner That's even cuter. Here in Germany, we gladly allow them on our roads, and they easily follow/exceed the speed of traffic. Ask any German about these vans. I've actually followed one last week going over 180 km/h (110 mph).

@JaShermer @EuroWynner In Germany, Texas driving speeds are reserved for the climate activists who drive slow to stop pollution.
