It’s objectively and historically false. When the minimum wage was established in 1938, FDR (whom I can’t stand) stated: “By living wages, I mean more than a bare subsistence level—I mean the wages of a decent living.” B. I got my first job at 14 because my family was poor. It’s bullshit to tell someone they’re worth less because they’re young. If you can do the job, you deserve fair pay—age shouldn’t determine your value. The minimum wage should either be adjusted annually to keep pace with inflation or be abolished entirely. It’s been stagnant at $7.25 since 2009, and in practice, it now serves more as a benchmark that suppresses wages than as a meaningful protection for workers.

Cracks me up because I say “yes ma’am” to any woman. A fair amount of the time I get either “Don’t call me ma’am that makes me feel old!” or “Ma’am?! How old do you think I am?!” Then I just go “Oh sorry ma’am”😂
