I would’ve preferred something with a bit more artistic vision and care behind the WC squad list presentation to be honest. That aside, it’s a very good list overall. My only real concern is the defense. Otherwise, the midfield is top class and the attack looks decent enough.

Without really impressing, we’ve still managed to reach the U17 AFCON semifinals for a third consecutive time. Next up: either Mali or Senegal. Another serious test for these lads, and one that i hope brings out the champion mentality within this group.

Fourth-ever qualification to the U17 WC for our Atlas Cubs and the third consecutive one. AFCON finalists and World Cup QFs in both 2023 and 2025. The bar has been raised so competing deep into tournaments is no longer a surprise, it’s the expectation.

Bouaddi, El Aynaoui, Ounahi, Targhalline, Mourabet, El Khannous, Amrabat, Hrimat, Saibari... Ouahbi will probably only take 6 or 7 midfielders at most, but it’s clearly the strongest area of our squad. Its my biggest source of optimism heading into the WC.

Glad to see Reda Laalaoui back on the pitch after such a difficult period. Hopefully he can now regain rhythm and confidence quickly because the talent has always been there. For me, his quality was never below that of his former U20 NT teammates Mourabet, Khalifi and Essadak.

Soudi and Zinbi have been the standouts so far. Rabbaj and Hadidi have shown flashes of quality, but need to offer more consistently. El Aoud, Bentaleb and Ibn Salah have been disappointing sadly. I hope Pereira and his staff make the correct decisions from this point onward.

Not to be harsh on these lads, but the last two performances have been far too underwhelming. There’s very little standing out from a collective standpoint. The goalkeeper and defense look vulnerable, the midfield feels slow and the attack has been far too predictable.

Honestly, the only thing holding back the Botola Pro 1 from reaching the standards it deserves is the administrative side. Scheduling issues, financial instability and overall organization. These are solvable problems with the right leadership and competent management in place.
