👏Last week we attended EDT (The Engineering Development Trust) Industrial Cadets Celebration Event at Newcastle University with the 12 students from Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham. The event saw both teams receiving their Gold Awards for their project.

We're pleased to kick off our Engineers of the Future Initiative, providing a range of STEM activities, work experience and placements. Lindsay, Robbie and Tom recently visited Queen Elizabeth High School to talk to Year 12 students about Engineering.

Congratulations to Pippa, our Office Administrator, who has won 1st place at the Aquasphere EPIC Lakes Swim in Ullswater earlier this month. Taking on the gruelling 5km swim, she was the 1stfemale swimmer and 6th overall winner. What an achievement!

Great to see that the buoyancy module handling system that RED supplied to @Subsea7 last year is now operational and is continuing to improve the safety and efficiency of subsea riser installations. #offshorehandling #saferquickerbetter

🏆 James Porteus (our Project Manager), and Mike Crosby (our Principal Engineer), were at the Progressive Alliance Awards Celebration Event yesterday, where we received the ‘Progress at Pace SME Award’. #nucleardecommissioning

Last week, Robbie Langford, our Mechanical Design Engineer, visited The University of Sheffield as a member of their Industrial Advisory Board. He had a jam packed day discussing industry developments, curriculum content, outreach activities & meeting other Board members.

Yesterday, we were at the NOF and Nuclear Institute Conference, where Will Hopps, our Project Manager, discussed our recent project with @SellafieldLtd & talked about the crucial role technology development plays in nuclear waste management, and how the UK is leading the way.

Yesterday evening we welcomed delegates from the @IMechE to our site. It was great to share updates on our recent projects, discuss our industry's main challenges and opportunities, and give them a tour of the RED Technology Centre (RTC). #IMECHE

An update on our Engineering Development Trust students! 👏 They’ve now completed the Gold Award process and have received some great feedback. The next step is the celebration event at @UniofNewcastle in July, where they’ll find out if they’ve won the award. Good luck!

A great end to the week as we’re pleased to share some internal promotions. Tom Archer has been promoted from Trainee Engineer to Engineer, and Neil Souter from Draftsperson to Design Draftsperson, as both have demonstrated brilliant work recently. #teamRED
