“Because you think you can waltz into their lives when they have had to fight to survive and endure the shit that's outside these walls , you weren't there for them , Red , ” Joel stepped a bit closer , squaring up to Red.

Joel pushed Red back from him , his patience is running thin , he's giving Red a chance to just walk away. “But you brought * my son into this , it's nothin ' to do with a * child. ”

Joel didn't want Riley to find out what they had to do to survive , not until he's older and able to comprehend the horrors they committed — Joel slowly stood up , hand on his thigh and he looks at Red. “Back off. ”

“ ... I'll give you one last chance to leave my son out of your mouth before I rip your throat out , ” Joel knocks back his drink , setting the glass down.

They were adults , if they wanted to talk to Red , they could , but after seeing how Luke was — ... Jaw clenched , he's more angry at the fact Red spoke to Riley than anything. “Shut the fuck up. ”

“Ill break your goddamn neck , ” he didn't steal away any kids from him , he simply was there for them , all three of them.

“Like birth certificates mean anythin ' out here anymore , ” Joel went to drink the whiskey but when Red mentioned Riley that's when he gave him a pointed look , “You keep my son out of your goddamn mouth. ”

“The scene * I caused ? Or maybe it's the fact that you haven't been in their lives , Mister Williams , ” he picked up his whiskey , his weekly drink , “Just leave me the fuck alone. ”
