Red Lodge will be closed this weekend, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 but please do join us at @mshedbristol for @BristolHarbFest, @bristolmuseum or @HouseGeorgian! All our museums are free to enter and DRY, great shelter from this rainy weather ☔️

The Red Lodge will re-open this year on Monday 19th June. Before then we will be dusting and cleaning all of the wood panelling and furniture, the same as all the past residents and their servants would have done.

Lots of fun with our Festive Family activities today (here until 3pm). Tomorrow our lovely colleagues from @RedLodgeMuseum are bringing an Elizabethan Christmas vibe, 11am-3pm. Join us for pomander-making, Tudor decorations and dressing up. ALL FREE!

Regretfully we have taken the decision to close Red Lodge & @HouseGeorgian early this year due to staff shortages. Work will continue behind the scenes to maintain the buildings & to ready them for opening in April 2023.

The Red Lodge will be closed on Monday 19 September as we remember Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her funeral.

I had the Tudor knot garden at the Red Lodge to myself today (do visit the house and garden if you can - it’s free!). The design of the garden is inspired by the plasterwork on the ceiling of the main bedroom.
