I'd like to clear the air here. It's true, I'm no longer with Ava Labs and won't be working on Avalanche in the near future. But this isn't a disaster for me, and it's not a disaster for Avalanche. I've been in the Avalanche community for almost 5 years now, working at Ava Labs for 3. It's insane how much changes over time in this young industry, and this is a natural departure time for me. It might feel bad, but I'm still going to be around if everything works out. When I started, gaming was basically a future dream. We had Crabada, but the team always wanted games we would play as a teenager, games that could change the perception of crypto. I joined Ava Labs at a time where we had some of those games lined up but still a ways off, so we built a great gaming community and brand in preparation and those games just swept web3 gaming awards in 2025. But I think the industry is shifting again - it's B2B, it's stablecoins, it's institutional finance, and ofc trading. Naturally my career path has to change with it. This happens a lot in startup industries, things change, and you have to keep finding ways to contribute. We also have a baby coming in a few weeks, so the pressure of figuring out what I will continue to do is high. Ava Labs is allowing me time to do that by covering my paternity leave. Everyone has offered to help me in any way they can. I'm really proud of what we did as a team and community; you guys are amazing. It's honestly the saddest part for me and I hope to find a next job that allows me to still be a big part of the Avalanche community. And finally, I know price sucks. I believe everyone at Ava Labs knows how important that is.

Seen a lot of "friendly fire" within the @avax community lately addressing accusations that the community is unwelcoming to outsiders or that the "OG cabal" only supports projects if they benefit from early access. Let's discuss a recent case involving a rug launched by an outside team: -Launched a token on the $arena app with suspicious bundling, raising red flags. -Contacted key community members to affirm legitimacy. -Ran a secretive OTC deal to raise funds (buy X, get 2X from the team). -Agreed to secure a large token supply in a multisig with trusted parties. -Spent over 40 hours strategizing with community leaders. -At every turn, played victim and blamed the community and alleged "cabal FUD" for their lack of success (price didn't go up fast enough). Despite reassurances from many trusted web3 community leaders, the team secretly held and sold large portions of the token supply from undisclosed wallets, finally causing a -90% price drop with a large dump. They denied selling, gaslighted critics, and continued dumping even during a public Spaces event meant to clarify the situation. As it stands, the much maligned avalanche "OGs" and "cabal" members actually invested significant time, funds, and effort to vet and support this outside team, getting burned in the end. All of this contradicts claims of an unwelcoming community. If anything, I challenge you to find a more welcoming, helpful, open community. We all know, the blockchain's decentralized, permissionless nature heightens scam risks. Leaders should actually encourage a DYOR culture, instead of attacking the community for exercising caution. Personally, a major red flag is when unconnected teams demand large community investments for poorly developed projects, claiming it proves openness. "Buy my project to prove you're open to outsiders" is a weak narrative, even for memecoins. Teams should build trust through networking and proven intent before seeking funds. This chain, this space needs integrity more than ever.

Been burned by “trustworthy” outside teams multiple times this week. Anyone actually building more than a grift?

I had *several* VCs back out of investments early this year bc they lost a fuck ton of money in memes after the Melania thing. I get it. No judgment. Everyone is trying to play the game. I’ve been funding everything im doing for years by just trading. I haven’t received a paycheck in 5+ years. I can degen gamble with the best of you. I also find it incredibly cynical to suggest that the best we can do to onboard users is to pump degen bags that end up wrecking just as many people, if not more, than it benefits. I will happily benefit if we continue to play this game, but crypto, like the economy doesn’t have to be zero sum. Only moronic crypto nerds think “everything is a ponzi”. Only people who’ve never actually sold goods or services that had real value think everything is a ponzi. At the risk of being a vibe downer, I will once again say the primary investment of serious organizations should be in real products, not memes that pump and dump. Since nobody will listen to me, I will continue to just make money from the grift. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Common misconception, it's not possible for facts to 'age poorly'. Doesn't matter if you use all the profits to buy back. Doesn't matter if you cure cancer. You fuck ONE GOAT, and you're always a goat fucker.
