170 days until the Bonnies are back! 🐺

The Bonnies will have a big man on campus next week. @BWieu39037 is scheduled to visit on May 18th. Adding the 6’10” F/C would be a great way to put a bow on things and wrap up this roster. 🐺

There’s a star on this Bonnies roster. I’m not sure who it is, but time will tell. Akbar Waheed III and Mason Blackwood are prime candidates to burst onto the scene. BC and Penn State transfers that could find a comfort zone at Bonaventure. I’m really excited about that duo.

I don’t expect Joe to morph into Chet Holmgren, but I don’t think last year was a fair indicator of the player he is. He was on a short leash and wasn’t involved in the offense. A new coach could be just what he needs. Also a lot of time with @SBUStrengthCon. 🦄

When I watch Joe’s film from Fullerton, I see a player operating with supreme confidence and freedom. He was smooth with the ball in his hands, and displayed great touch. He has unique skills and I hope Coach Mac can tap into that potential. 🦄

I know we finished in 13th place last season, but there’s still a lot of production to replace. Dasonte’s playmaking. Buddy’s scoring, Frank’s tenacity, and Cayden’s hustle were all very valuable. I’m confident this current group will form their own identity and intangibles.

Bol Thet will visit SBU on May 18. The 6-10 big man is from the 2026 class.

One thing I like about Coach MacDonald is how he tailors his system to maximize his players strengths. He’s not a coach that tries to fit a square peg in a round hole. He adjusts year to year, game to game. I think his mindset and modern approach will be a huge positive. 🐺

Players like Ari Fulton were exactly what we were missing last season. It’s a must to have size and athleticism on the wings in today’s game. I like this roster more and more with each addition. Big guards, versatile wings, stout frontcourt. 🐺

This team is filled with low risk/high reward talent. I love the combination of returning players and newcomers. I think we’re going to see a brand of basketball that is refreshing and vastly different from recent seasons. 🐺

Highlights of new SBU commit Ari Fulton. Aggressive but fluid athlete and versatile defender who led NJIT in rebounds and FT rate. Solid midrange and rim finisher. Shot 25% 3PT, but the stroke is there to hopefully improve that number next season.

I was waiting for the word on Ari Fulton. Today we got it. The 6’7” NJIT transfer is a Bonnie! An athletic, versatile, switchable wing that scored in double figures 18 times last season. Only a Sophomore, so his best basketball is still ahead of him. Very nice addition. 🐺

Big year upcoming for Ilia!

NJIT transfer Ari Fulton is on a visit to St. Bonaventure today, I've heard. The 6-7 athletic wing transfer and Fayetteville, NC, native averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds in 28 MPG as a sophomore last season, earning 2nd Team All-America East honors.

Can’t wait to see more of this from Lonati next season! 🤌 🐺
