i think i feel extra uncharacteristically patient for Indigenous folks in particular to walk back their support because i want them to know there's a community of warmth to return to once they've realized that there is no room for them in white-led movements, like ever.

it's not too late to acknowledge that maybe a week or two ago you felt some sort of alignment with the c*nvoy, but upon learning more information over the last few days, you've changed your mind.

There is nothing peaceful about a “protest” that deliberately uses loud noise to deny downtown residents the right to live in their homes without constant disruption. Affecting their mental and physical health and safety. This needs to be addressed immediately. #mbpoli

this so-called country didn't commit genocide, it's still committing genocide. they're still killing us. they're still sterilizing people, taking children out of communities, and failing to provide access to things like healthcare, education, and basic sanitation.

So tired of gaslighting language like “a dark chapter in Canadian history.” We are born into this pain and reminded of it every single day. We will spend a lifetime grieving with heavy holes in our hearts mourning who those 215 children, and so many like them, could have been.

Quit supporting abusers then saying you support MMIWG2S.

It's #MMIW Awareness Day. You can find all kinds of horrifying statistics. But I want to tell you about Indigenous women. We are born from survivors. Our mothers and grandmothers survived boarding schools and empty cupboards. We're funny as hell. We laugh hard.

it's just as important to acknowledge that police inaction and violence, lack of media coverage/Indigenous journalists, discriminatory health practices, resource extraction projects and so many other systems are a direct source of ongoing violence against #MMIWG2S.

Hated when my people would say “our ancestors weren’t fat” but there’s pictures and videos from early centuries of beautiful fat plateau women preparing food, sitting and enjoying company, and living their lives. They were beautiful, happy and yes fat. And we need to see that.

Today we're thinking of the families of all the Indigenous & Black people who have been killed by Winnipeg Police in recent years including Eishia Hudson, Stewart Andrews, Jason Collins, Randy Cochrane, Sean Thompson, Machuar Madut, Chad Williams and so many more. #AbolishTheWPS
