A Massachusetts police department submitted a request for a warrant to @facebook to obtain the name and identity behind a burner account that they say was harassing one of their officers, who also happens to be the son of the chief of police. The warrant was approved by a clerk magistrate and the department learned the identity was that of a police officer from a neighboring town. The only problem? Many found the alleged harassing posts to not be harassing at all and the city council has called for an investigation. The corporation counsel for the city of Fall River says the city council can not call for the investigation, only the mayor can, who has stated the police did nothing wrong.
