On January 4, 2025, my bill, HR 5103 – "The FISHES Act" was signed into law by the President. HR 5103 expedites the delivery of much-needed fishery disaster relief to coastal communities. Today, we received the pen & signed copy of this monumental win for the people of Florida.

I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Senator Lindsey Graham. Lindsey dedicated his entire life to serving this country—both in the U.S. Air Force and in Congress. He was an incredibly effective lawmaker who always led with courage and deep conviction. He always did what he thought was right even if it wasn’t popular, leaving behind a massive legacy of leadership that won't be forgotten. Erika and I send our prayers to Lindsey’s family and the people of South Carolina. May he rest in peace.

President Trump is correct: AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP IS NOT FOR SALE. The 14th Amendment was not intended to greenlight birth tourism and all the other nonsense that we are seeing today. The Supreme Court got it flat-out wrong with its ruling last week.

This afternoon, I sat down with Ben Spence, the new CEO of Lee Health. We had a productive discussion about expanding patient-first medical care in SWFL and their brand-new, state-of-the-art campus in Fort Myers, which is currently under construction. This facility is a massive win for our community, ensuring our families have world-class care right here at home. It was truly great meeting with Ben and his team today, and I look forward to seeing this essential facility open to patients.

Yesterday morning, my team had the privilege of attending the Big Carlos Pass Bridge ribbon-cutting ceremony. With a lifespan of 75 years, this newly constructed bridge includes new lanes and an updated clearance to better serve our SWFL community. Thank you to the Lee Board of County Commissioners for the invitation.

The 14th Amendment was never intended to give away the sacred rights of American citizenship to the entire world. Congress is going to have to step up and do the right thing. Ending birthright citizenship is necessary. We cannot allow today’s disastrous ruling by the Supreme Court to stand.

Now more than ever, PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.

Let’s make sure that people who are sent to Washington are being voted on by Americans. Who the American people choose is up to them, but we have a responsibility to secure that franchise and to secure that process for the American people. PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!
