There's a lot Schimming bashing going on following the Lazar loss, but the thing that has gone quietly unaddressed for years: No one else wants the job. The state GOP leaders need to search, recruit, and hire a political animal who is super-motivated to shake things up and win.

According to the reports filed on March 31, 2026, the liberal raised more than $6.1 million while the conservative raises about $900,000. No one can overcome that advantage in a swing state. Looking ahead to November, conservatives have to figure out how to inspire donors - big and small a like - to get behind Tom Tiffany’s campaign. Winning in Wisconsin requires a strong message, manpower, and money. Right or wrong, if you don’t have enough money, the message and manpower doesn’t matter.

The party grassroots need to call their chairs and their elected leaders and demand Schimming resign

Existing leaders need to adopt the mentality of “what do we have to lose” within the Wisconsin GOP. Seriously, how can it get any worse?
Admittedly, I would prefer to not even see party leadership at events as long as they can fundraise and recruit amazing candidates to run.

He needs to be replaced immediately.

My husband lost his local election. We're disappointed but he worked as hard as he could. We move on and try again in 2 years or find younger candidates who might have a better chance. We did get state GOP mailing lists that were out of date which doesn't help. New and much younger leadership statewide would be welcomed.

Disappointing night. No other way to describe it.
I have many thoughts, but they deserve some time to develop. At least one nights sleep worth.
However, placing reactionary blame on one person/entity is a cop out and doesn't help us.
Unlike the Democrats, we need a public post-mortem that goes into detail on everything wrong. I hope to give my takes soon.

Okay.. that’s something.. but Brian should have been able to fundraise for her… but he didn’t… and countless local elections down ballot were lost because of his decision to stay on the couch..
He must be removed as chair

@RedWisco26 How about this. Both deserve plenty of blame. This is exactly my issue with people looking right to the party for criticism. YES, change is needed but when a candidate runs a race destined to fail. Why would anyone invest? 3rd party did nothing. Why? Idk you tell me
