On April 18, LayerZero's hosted infrastructure was exploited to forge a cross-chain message, draining 116,500 rsETH from the bridging adapter. Our core onchain and offchain infrastructure was not affected.
As an interim security measure while we investigate a more secure cross-chain infrastructure, Kelp completed a full hardening pass across its current bridging infrastructure to prevent similar attacks. As of April 29, that work is done.

I’m a $WLFI presale holder and have tracked this from day one.
Here’s what’s really been unfolding
At launch, 20% of tokens were unlocked for presale holders. Justin Sun, who was also an advisor, moved around $9M worth of his unlocked tokens to HTX.
At the same time, HTX offered high yields to encourage users to lock their WLFI. While retail was locking, it’s alleged that linked entities were selling in the background, potentially using that locked liquidity to exit early.
During this period, concerns started growing within the #WLFI community, with many holders questioning the price drop and asking the team to take action against Sun.
This situation raised serious concerns around a possible agreement breach and market impact, which eventually led to his wallet being frozen.
The dispute has now escalated into federal litigation filed by Sun in April 2026, with no final court decision yet.

Kelp, alongside @aave, @ether_fi, @LayerZero_Core, @Compound_xyz, and others, has submitted a proposal to @arbitrum to release the ETH frozen after the April 18 incident into DeFi United, our coordinated recovery initiative.
Every ETH released moves rsETH holders closer to whole. The proposal is live and open for the Arbitrum community's feedback.

After discussions with several stakeholders, Aave service providers, @Ether_fi, @KelpDAO, @LayerZero_Core, @compound_xyz, and others have submitted a governance proposal to the @arbitrum DAO requesting the release of ETH frozen by the Arbitrum Security Council following the April 18 rsETH incident. If released, the funds will be directed into DeFi United, a coordinated cross-protocol recovery effort aimed at restoring rsETH backing and remediating impairment of rsETH for users. This contribution would meaningfully advance the path to resolution as others confirm their commitments.
