My 9yo just mentioned social anxiety in a conversation about a book he was reading. I asked him where he learned consent, and he said from a TV show.
Not to dismiss other people’s experiences but am I wrong to not want the concept introduced to children?

Learning how to zoom out when something is hurting you is such an underrated teaching of stoicism. As an overthinker, I get to practice situating my pain in the larger context of my life, of time, of what actually matters. Not to minimize the pain but to keep it in proportion.
