@Journaguns He glances at her again. “Just… normal stuff for a while, you know?”

@Journaguns “There's that new place a couple blocks over — Figured we could try it out.” Steve nudges her lightly with his shoulder as they start walking. “And hey… maybe steal the booth in the back so we can actually hear each other talk.”

He shrugged one shoulder, that easy going grin returning. “Besides… gives me more time to make sure you don’t do anything too reckless.”

@usefulempathy Then glanced back up at Emily, still kneeling there. [They’re both pretty great though.]

@usefulempathy His expression softened, as he glanced up at Emily while signing back. [Well, I can’t blame her for being cautious.] He shifted slightly on one knee, letting the braver dog lean into his hand while he gently held his fingers out for the timid one to sniff.

The pavement thudded under Steve’s sneakers, Walkman clipped to his shorts, music just loud enough. He slowed when he saw her. Up ahead, walking along the sidewalk—two dogs tugging eagerly at their leashes—was @usefulempathy

@HolySmokeFck “…I’m kinda glad you don’t think that version of me was all that great,” Steve says more quietly. “Means maybe you’re seeing the actual me instead of the bullshit reputation.”

@HolySmokeFck “Uh—” Steve clears his throat, glancing at him. “This… okay?” He gestures between them, meaning the hug. “Just— y’know. Making sure,” he adds quickly. “Consent and all that.” “Pretty sure I’ve gone soft,” he mutters.

“You deserved better than how I acted that night.” @HolySmokeFck “If you ever want to start over… I’m willing...”

@JeansAndCars "My van kinda decided it hates me today. Won't start. At all." Eddie tilted his head toward it. "You look like a guy who knows his way around an engine," he added carefully. "Any chance you could take a look at it?"

@JeansAndCars "So, uh… not to interrupt the whole dramatic exit thing you've got going on," he said, a little out of breath, gesturing back towards his van parked out front, "but since you're already out here and all…" He scratched the back of his neck.

“Well, Well, Well, if that isn’t Steve Harrington himself, nice outfit. A perfect way of charming the girls” He throws at @RedeemHero_ with a devious smirk. “Some strawberry, mint, for red and chocolate chip for me” they are home alone, having some kind of white flags up, —

“And for the record? You worrying doesn’t mean things are bad. It just means you’re paying attention.” He shrugs, looking ahead for a moment before adding more quietly, “Which… y’know. I appreciate. Keeps the rest of us idiots alive.”

“But hey— worrying’s kinda your thing, right? You do the spiraling, I do the heroics and bad decision making. Team effort.” Steve bumps her shoulder again.

Steve drops the salute. “Yeah, well,” he mutters, “in our defense, ‘too calm’ usually means something’s about to crawl out soon...” He glances over at her.
