“It is not the shareholders of Tesla who are strip-mining the federal government; it is Musk specifically. It was not only the pharmaceutical market that fueled the opioid epidemic; the Sackler family specifically profited.” —Trevor Jackson go.nybooks.com/3XsoPYO

Of Poetry and Poets On March 9th, we honored Ukraine’s greatest poet and national hero. Taras Shevchenko’s (1814–1861) words became a voice of defiance in Ukraine’s struggle against Russian oppression. His legacy continues to inspire generations in the fight for freedom. His most famous collection, “Kobzar,” is more than poetry – it is the heart of Ukrainian literature and a symbol of national identity. Among Shevchenko’s most powerful works are “The Dream,” a sharp political satire exposing the brutal oppression of the Russian Empire, and “The Caucasus,” a fierce condemnation of imperial tyranny and colonial conquest. Shevchenko’s defiant voice led to his exile and persecution, yet his legacy endured, earning him a place among the great literary figures of the world. His influence extends beyond literature, and his vision of a free Ukraine continues to inspire movements for democracy and national self-determination.

When Trump says "We're going to become so rich you're not going to know where to spend all that money" He's not talking to you. He's talking to himself and his fellow billionaires -- to Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg. THEY'RE going to get richer. With YOUR money.
