I’m opting out of the Rece Hinds Discourse™️ for the most part, but will add that there’s an interesting overlap of people who are convinced he wasn’t given a shot & the same folks who went a little overboard about Mike Ford a couple years ago.

Defensive Runs Saved Leaders - Third Baseman

Kyle Harrison will get the headlines, but I'd bet Shane Drohan was the selling point in the deal for the Brewers. High-vert cutter ✅ Multiple breaking balls ✅ A straight-CH (with incredible Whiff Rates) ✅

Very curious whether Rece Hinds get claimed. My gut says yes. The Orioles have been on a spree of claiming fallen-star prospects & DFA'ing them in their own org. The Marlins have an affinity for trying to fix Rece Hinds-types. I don't see why the Angels wouldn't roll the dice.

Per the transactions log, the Reds have traded Rece Hinds to the Marlins for Triple-A pitcher Zach McCambley. Hinds was DFAd last week. McCambley was a third-round pick in 2020, had been moving his way up through Miami’s farm system, posted a 3.32 ERA in 2025 in Triple-A and a 2.36 ERA in 2026 in Triple-A. He can give you some length, and he threw three innings in his most recent outing.

Wow. They got a big league arm for Rece Hinds? That’s pretty remarkable lol. Got picked in the R5 this year but didn’t make the Phillies roster. Has posted very good swing and miss numbers practically his whole career. Reliever. High level sweeper. Fastball isn’t great, but he doesn’t rely on it.

Trade summary, per @IsaacAzout: Marlins get - Rece Hinds Reds get - Zach McCambley
