@Redteaart the vibe is definitely there. fire is one of those things where the reference is easy but the motion has its own logic. this reads as intentional not broken

I drew what I think a placeholder epoch for slay the spire 2 could look like. I need to do a proper art study on how fire works cuz I don't think the flames "move" quite right but I think it's still a pretty cool vibe.

My comic is probably a bit over 60 pages planned out so far and coming along quite nicely I need help with good inspo for bg characters though. Small peek at what a page is looking like. Different colors different chapters green is where I'm at rn. Pink I'm just proud of the page

I also recently sort of finished up a lil animation of me dancing around with a guitar. Pretty cute eh?

Limbs will cross over or be foreshortened just because of the way that the photo is taken. learning proportions (heads tall) won't take you far in art 'cause it's not really applicable on most poses or bodies. And anatomy only helps with details when you build on good foundation

Pen is hard mode on gestures it forces commitment to your decisions, being quick (60 sec pose) to get through them trains you to see and cap the most important parts to show what the body is doing. I see weight and motion being held in the pose, not the body parts that make it.

it's unfair to compare your skills with artists that aren't using art for the same things you're using it for. There's a lot to learn cross discipline but it's unfair to think you're a bad artist because you suck at painting when you animate character. You exercise differ skills

figure drawings they can be kind of fun though I feel like for most people it only gets a little fun when you start to be pretty alright at it. I am kind of an impatient artist so I can bang out each figure drawing in 60 seconds but I also use this skill a lot for my comic.

Like yeah you can do or make whatever you want but how do you make it interesting apart from presenting it competently. how do you show it off in a way that matters?

I feel like people love to talk about the self expression and the lovely colors meaning feelings or whatever but there's some of the less glamorous stuff in art too especially when paired with storytelling that leaves you frustrated that you're struggling to A the Q: "so what?"

Copying Sean Andrew Murray I need to go outside to more interesting places to build up a good visual library for this stuff. A trip to Europe or a camping trip, it's starting to warm up.

I like copying other artists I have a pixiv book and used that as reference for the stuff I drew here. I was bummed that the eyeliner girl got Uber smudged in the sketchbook. Oh and there's the quick doodle of man torso.

Drew the backgrounds based off a Sean Andrew Murray sketchbook art book, also working out a design for a bard to be in my comic.

I dunno how interesting people would find the behind the scenes, coming up with ideas part all that interesting but these are some of the ugly sketches that I'm not sure most artists would really share on how they get there. It doesn't exactly make me look like a genius first try

Could use some ideas to fill out a fancy party scene, share oc's and I'll do a design in my art style. (All I have is a ballpoint at the moment)
