Happy Christmas All. We're having a great time in Redwell Towers. Unfortunately there's a cacophany of noise here as some idiot bought crackers with kazoos in them. Alas, that idiot was me.... On the plus side, new boardgames to entertain us this afternoon.

Happiness inducing moment from #Stroud Xmas market ghis morning. A lady came to my stand and said "I'm glad you're here, I bought Quirk from you last year for my niece & nephew on your recommendation. - Best game ever." I think I ought to tell @EmmerseStudios the feedback.

Today I'm at #Framptonountryfair framptoncountryfair.co.uk It's lovely and sunny and looks like it will be a fantastic day of shows, fairground attractions and stalls. #Gloucestershire

@Jade_Corsair @BattletechCom The maps (which are lovely) are from the battle for Tukayid (which i can never spell correctly) map pack. We played it that the Jade Falcons were assaulting from the sea edge and the house Steiner defence forces were trying to hold them off.

Had a game of Battletech where Little Red allied with my friend Jim as Inner Sphere commanders to thwart my Clan Jade Falcon invaders. Most frustrating part - missing the King Crab (needing only a 5) with a U-AC20! But look - my clan mechs are actually painted!

Leg 2 of #Cotswoldway challenge. Little Red and I walked 10.6 miles yesterday from Broadway to Hailes. 15% now completed!

@EmmerseStudios But. Custom box inserts kept each players items together and sorted and then shared components together. A good example of box insert is Dice Forge. It's really well thought out for set up and tear down.

@EmmerseStudios I played great western trail on tuesday evening. It has 4 sets of shared card tokens, two shared deck of cards and shared credits. Plus, each player (of 4) has a set of wooden tokens, a set of card tokens and a deck of cards. This could be a major faff and annoying to get out.

How do you feel about bigger board games coming with lots of tokens/counters? Is it too much hassle setting up/packing down when there’s too many with different symbols on them?
