@petewosso @KnowerOfBans Exactly. When you say pro that could be Football League.1, the 3.Liga, or the Latvian league. Pro is pro, but like college which has levels, so does Pro. But the original post said Pro, not a top 10-15 pro league in the world

@Redwine_13 @KnowerOfBans I guess the argument here is about the steepness of the professional pyramid. When most people think “pro” they think top tier, not just “under contract in a competitive environment” which is what you’re referencing.

It’s a cop out answer in America but it’s definitely soccer. Most good players don’t even go to college to begin with.

@KnowerOfBans @petewosso As I said the top college guys always go pro. I never said all. I also said the top 100 guys don't always go to a great league, but pro teams all across the world are scouting college, from MLS, USL, to some smaller league across the globe. Many post 2020 have gone pro.

@Redwine_13 @petewosso Notice how you didn’t list any players post 2020 like he said. The uppermost estimate of pro conversion rate (at any professional level) is less than 8%. It’s a paltry 1% of players that make it to MLS.

@Redwine_13 @KnowerOfBans This is just flat out wrong. Post 2020, if you’re playing D1 college soccer, it’s almost certainly because you aren’t talented enough to play pro. Top college baller is probably getting released after a weeks long trial in div 1 Latvia.

That was some straight B.S. from the GREAT Geno Auriemma. Never — ever — thought I’d see the day when the greatest woman’s college coach in history would go down so CLASSLESSLY!!!
