As a result, not all sanctuaries are equal and too often we have been involved in cases of severe neglect and suffering in places called ‘sanctuaries’. This has often led to Redwings offering spaces for horses like Ringo, who needed to be rescued for a second time. ❤️ (3/3)

Redwings knows all too well how much knowledge, time, effort and commitment is needed to rescue and care for animals in need. At present, anyone can set and run a ‘sanctuary’ without checks or even being required to register their existence. (2/3)

Great to meet with representatives from the Fireworks Impact Coalition (and Teddy the dog! 🐶) in Parliament today. We discussed the negative impact that fireworks can have on animals and people. I fully back them in their campaign to make celebrations safer for all. 🎆

@MetCC If all fireworks were silent, the views would be amasing but the veterans affected, the number of distressed and escapes pets would be a positive result

Bleddy fireworks are a bit loud tonight in the ‘Port. I’ve got a very worried pair of cats & a terrified small dog. Not even November yet.
