FLASHBACK FRIDAY: The concept of whether high school football officiating is better when a crew stays together throughout the season or if individual officials are assigned to form a crew each game was a hot topic in the 1990s. Referee tackled the topic in our October 1997 edition with a feature story titled "To Crew or Not to Crew," and we gathered a local high school football crew to pose on a "crew" at the University of Wisconsin in Madison to capture this iconic image.
