@SCourts67 @BroxburnGers @CoachDavidBaird Has to be a pen. No idea what the defender was doing - and you might not give it in a kids game, but it's a clear handball in the area so pen is the only outcome

You’re the referee and see this. Do you give a penalty?

@ElliotLuke19 If people knew the level of scrutiny referees experienced in terms of debriefs, assessments, promotion and relegation they would understand that there is definitely accountability

@RefereeWatch I agree. Accountability and parading them in front of a camera just to attack them are not the same thing. There needs to be much harsher penalties for game changing mistakes, but this is not it. There would be no good will in it.

Fully agree. One possible middle ground would be referee chief giving a statement on Mondays to clarify points of law/procedure. But any interview or press conference would create more problems than it would solve

A lot to unpack in that Wolves v Leeds game. Lopetegui has a case on the penalty, but always a red for Jonny and not a foul on Traore before Leeds 4th goal. Nice to see a referee stick by their original decision after VAR recommended a review

@UK_Wingnut If either of them had played the ball it would have been a Dortmund free kick

There is no reason or excuse for players to encroach at a penalty. Poor discipline from the player and poor coaching. #CHEBVB

Really messy process from Stuart Attwell. Looks like he was going to caution Ziyech for original foul so at the very least it should be a 2nd caution for the push on Royal

Yesterday was a poor day for officials in PL. But I don't think refs are 'worse' now than they used to be - at no time in football history has anyone ever claimed that the officials of the day are good. And never claim corruption when something can be explained by incompetence

Appeared to me that Reid stood on Trippier's ankle rather than Trippier committing the foul. Surprised that was given as a var overturn

@Phil73013777 1) I would like the Salah goal to be disallowed, unfortunately it is currently the correct decision. Stretching to play the ball in that manner shouldn't reset offside IMO 2) He didn't raise his flag early. He waited until the ball went in & went back for previous infringement

@RefereeWatch Salah was in an offside position when he received the ball.Toti came back from an offside position & was onside when he received the ball.I understand the decisions. BUT Q1 Did Salah or Toti get an advantage? Q2.Why did the linesman raise his flag so early for TOTI?

@Phil73013777 If the ball touches the goalscorer's hand immediately before scoring, even if accidental, it is a handball offence

@RefereeWatch Can some one explain why Rashfords goal got disallowed... Rashford sort of bundled the ball a d shot, it blasted back off the keeper at speed & onto Rashfords arm, onto his leg and went into the net. How can that be hand ball?

@luckyoldjohn @Nuggie1986 ET is viewed as a separate phase of play. I assume due to potential changes in conditions during the original 90 min that might mean a team prefer to attack one end over the other.

@RefereeWatch @Nuggie1986 What was coin toss at start of ET for? Surely team that kick off first half will kick off first period of ET. Nothing in laws I can find?

Paredes launches into a tackle and then smashes the ball in to the Dutch technical area. But apparently it is the referee has lost control 🤷‍♂️

@RefereeWatch If he manages it right, it's 2 separate yellow cards and a red. Also, the fact he is treating Messi lime his child that no one os allowed near hasn't helped the perception.
