Forza Horizon 5 was nominated and won in multiple categories at The Game Awards 2021. There isn’t a special clause that “disqualified” it from GOTY.
It won Best Sports/Racing Game, Innovation in Accessibility, and Best Audio Design.

@DeanoDoesStuff @FearHarvester GOWR released Nov 9. The review embargo was Nov 2 meaning outlets had the game around Oct 19th and published reviews BEFORE the voting deadline.
Nominees were announced Nov 14th.
People are just straight up inventing narratives.

I can't find any evidence to the claim that Geoff has shifted dates for voting to ensure other games get included. FH5 just seems to have had a bad timing window for TGA logistically.

The game released AFTER the cut off for GOTY submissions. It made other categories, but was 1 day short to qualify for GOTY, whereas they modified this date to accommodate GOWR

They altered that for GOWR so it qualified.

So it's complicated. Technically it was within the deadline, but TGA required ballots be submitted earlier in Novemever. They could change ballots, but only by the 11th. So there wasn't really time for votes to be changed.
