Sunderland Central Chair Chris Enyon recently welcomed Cllr Andrew Harrison to Sunderland to discuss veterans affairs. Sunderland has approximately 11,000 veterans, with our remembrance ceremony being one of the biggest outside of London. Meanwhile, local Labour MP Lewis Atkinson has backed the Northern Ireland Troubles Bill. This bill scraps many legal protections our veterans have from vexatious prosecution, with supporters of the bill citing these protections were incompatible with the ECHR.
