Lutheran High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Pierre Desir as Head Football Coach, beginning in the fall of 2026. Coach Desir brings a unique blend of elite football experience, servant leadership, and a strong commitment to mentoring student-athletes.
A St. Louis native and Lindenwood University graduate, Desir is a former eight-year NFL veteran whose career was marked not only by excellence on the field, but by leadership and service off of it. He was twice named a Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee, an honor recognizing character, community involvement, and positive impact beyond the game.
Following his NFL career, Desir has dedicated himself to developing young athletes through coaching, training, and community initiatives. He currently serves as CEO of Push Athletics, an organization focused on skill development, mentorship, and exposure opportunities for student-athletes. Through Push Athletics, he has led boys 7v7 programs and girls flag football initiatives, emphasizing discipline, accountability, leadership, and personal growth alongside athletic performance.
Desir’s experience with athletes across multiple age groups has shaped a holistic coaching philosophy that aligns seamlessly with Lutheran High School’s mission to Grow and Serve in Christ. He views football as a platform to develop the whole student-athlete—spiritually, academically, and athletically—while building a culture rooted in faith, integrity, and excellence.
“Coach Desir brings exactly what we want for Cougar Athletics,” said Melvin Bethany, Director of Athletics. “His passion for developing the whole student-athlete, combined with elite experience and a Christ-centered approach, will have a lasting impact on our program.”
With a proven track record of building strong, values-driven programs, Coach Desir is poised to lead the next chapter of Lutheran High School football. We are excited to welcome Coach Desir and look forward to working with our student-athletes this winter and spring as we prepare for the future of Cougar Football.
