When I was growing up, antisemitism was primarily in history books and black & white film reels. Today it was in real color right up the road at Temple Israel. This is a fire that will take all of us to snuff out. We must stand up to the unacceptable rise in antisemitism.

After Michigan House Republicans unilaterally cut over $600M in vital public safety, infrastructure, and health care funds to organizations in our community — including Downriver and Western Wayne County — the Michigan Senate passed a bill to restore these funds and allow organizations to finish their projects. We did it with bipartisan support, too. Now we need the Speaker and House Republicans to take up this bill and right the wrongs they forced upon our residents.
