@fm_henson @LIONLOVERS5 No… nothing! 😞 It can mean many things!Unless someone has seen him dead or found remains of a dead lion in the area between Manyeleti and Kruger’s,we may never know.There’s a vast area without any lodges or roads.

@fm_henson @LIONLOVERS5 Yes,it’s truly heartbreaking!Every time there’s hope for this pride to thrive again,the cubs disappear!As a side note,it was never Red Road who would go after them!It was as if there was an unwritten rule that the TintswaloMales wouldn’t hurt NharuCubs and RR wouldn’t hurt Mbiris

The first picture shows the Common Kingfisher, in German called “Eisvogel”=“Ice Bird”, which I watch fishing during “icy” conditions in a little hidden bay of Lake Zürich in 2009 and in comparison the Malachite Kingfisher in Amboseli, Kenya in 2021. #wildearth

I feel many people watching #wildearth are not aware how close the Maasai Mara is to the Equator and therefore only experiences rainy and drier seasons, not the 4 seasons most of us are familiar with.

@RegulaMaria @SMNK1972 I'm still hoping those Mbiri mothers have the little ones hidden safely. The misidentification issues make this so hard to follow. Wishing the best for the Nharus and Chinya.

For those interested - The Vutomi male(son of Basile & most likely Euphorbia) from the western Sabi Sand has dispersed into the Kruger and was seen couple of days ago. #wildearth

I hope this is the case,but fear for the worst!There’s still so much confusion about who the Mantimahles were seen mating with.Poor quality recordings don’t help and lionesses have been mis-IDed too often.The 3Mbiri lionesses seen with Nzuri have a strong bond!Hoping the best for Nharus!

@RegulaMaria Hopefully the mothers are hiding the cubs but not looking good for the Mbiri cubs. Maybe the Mantimales will accept the cubs if the mothers allow them to mate. Here is hoping. Fingers crossed for the Nharus and Chinya. RR cubs are so close to being safe (age wise).
