autism is a social & information processing disorder. most people with autism don’t even know they are disabled because they have nothing to compare it to. it’s not like autism is visible.

Please don't forget that the only difference between you and a disabled person is time. Even if the disability is temporary, it will happen in your lifetime. Disability is part of the human condition. Advocating for disability rights is advocating for your inevitable future.

@chippel @2bitz_star @CeaselessWatchr I take a med for intrusive thoughts. My suicidality has all but disappeared. My brain is no longer screaming "run into traffic", "slam your car into the guardrail", "stab yourself in the heart", or "throw yourself down the stairs" at me 24/7. It was a constant battle for life.

and all seriousness, you're too disabled to work before you ever realize it. I was passing out and collapsing at work, multiple times a day, crying in the bathroom because of pain and I still clocked in the next day, for months.

Getting a diagnosis didn't help me get well. None of the specialists I've seen have helped me get well. My quality of life has worsened despite me going to see doctor after doctor. They do not have the answers. They are largely a waste of energy, money, and time

So many people innovate to make their jobs easier and (rightfully) never tell their employers because they'd likely be fired, rewarded with more work, or have their innovative idea stolen without credit or compensation. What a useless world we've built for ourselves.
