I'm going to be honest here, My opinion on AI is more so that its a tool that can be used to either make things better and easier for everyone, or cause harm to others. There are things I don't like about AI sure and I myself do have issues but its not so much the tech but rather the companies themselves trying to sell us AI. Not GENERATIVE AI. Anyone who's at least dabbled in messing around with generative AI should probably have at least figured out by now that the output can only be based on whatever its actually given based on whatever patterns its training data recognizes, End result, AI can never generate any new designs, concept or Ideas, it will just b a rehash/regurgitation of what it already knows. If you are creating something NEW or ORIGINAL , AI CAN NEVER REPLACE YOU. That said AI is a great tool to drastically speed up the process for those who would already copy/imitate/trace over someone else's work. Simply put the only real "Creatives" who are at threat are those who are imitating, and not creating. Same time as well I've seen many artists throughout the year on Pixiv as early as 2023 even start selling subscriptions to their own custom models trained on their own artwork. With tools like Image generation, If you own a mid-high end Gaming PC since RTX 30 series onwards you likely already have the hardware to run any of these models yourselves. (in many cases overall energy use for these workloads are no worse than if they were to edit videos or play graphically intensive video games for the same time frame the model is active for) In 2026 a lot of creative tools even also just have you already engaging or paying with AI or its integration in some way shape or form, Legal Adobe users are already paying for AI credits with their subscriptions, Canva has AI tools and features tied to their premium plans, Open source drawing apps like Krita also has AI integrations you can add into it very easily via extensions as well. If you have an issue with AI and generative AI you honestly shouldn't be using/supporting anything Twitter/X, Google, Adobe, Canvas, Windows, and many more in 2026 as they all are using or built on AI stuff these days. The real issue with AI and its hate should be more directed at the corpos benefiting and screwing us over the whole thing, good examples are , Open AI ( imagine calling your company Open AI but not having your product/service be open/open source), Google, X/twitter, Space X , Microslop, Oracle, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Anthropic , Palantir, Meta, and many others buying up and hoarding all the hardware supply , water, electricity, and raw materials to build and operate data centers that they themselves cannot operate due to many factors like non-existent infrastructure. That said for anyone who does want to look into and running AI be it you at home, or any business, please consider running your own local AI and avoid supporting/using services of any of the corporate AI whenever possible.

replace the cmos battery inside your console and try to use it without an internet connection. the cmos battery that handles the internal clock and security keys for the blu-ray drive on you console will eventually die and will need to be replaced at some point. when that happens if you don't reconnect your console online everything on the console will stop working, even your physical games. thankfully a reconnect fixes this for now. That said eventually when servers for that console is retired/shut own you won't be able to get that fixed when it does inevitably happen. realistically these batteries usually last like 7-8 years however they will eventually die regardless and need to be replaced.

It’s honestly interesting how much misinformation there is about physical games nowadays. A lot of people assume discs are useless without an internet connection, but the majority of PS4/5 games are playable day 1 with just the disc Where do these misconceptions come from 🤔

ALL AI use is Generative regardless. that said the Gen AI use that's actually a problem is ironically not the use you performative idiots complain about. the larger corpo AI LLMs are the ones causing those issues, but funnily enough all the "AI art" stuff can be done locally on ur own pc at very little power use. an RTX 3060 is more than enough for a lot of that AI art, frankly speaking the impact of using ur own GPU to do such a thing has about the same impact as you booting up any 3d application or game and having it put ur pc under load for a like a minute or 2. that said using something like Chatgpt, Grok, and so on to ask it something is utilizing far far more power and RAM than someone using AI to generate a slop image on their own machines. that said if your work is truly unique , welp AI will never be able to replace you. at most it can just imitate and hallucinate an output based on its training data. Sadly too for most people that's more than good enough and they don't care. same end too honestly hiring an artist can be pretty pricy for various different things I really don't think its also a great idea for smaller vtubers/streamers and so on to just commission art all the time especially if they can't afford it, that said i'd also advise them if they are gonna use AI to avoid touching any of the corpo stuff and look into running their own AI using their own PCs.

The only way Generative AI can be trained to work how it does atm, is stealing the art of thousands of artists to generate said work. The artist you're asking for a Comm could have specifically had their art used to train the AI you're trying to bring them work from. Not only that but the environmental impacts of Generative AI are fucking insane. It's the reason RAM is more expensive. It's the reason an entire company pulled out of selling RAM to actual consumers. It's the reason that hundreds of thousands of people have higher electric bills as their power centers draw more and more power. Some of you absolutely deserve to be on a blacklist. You're so willing to defend and use AI that it makes it clear that you'll be willing to put any art you get into the AI. So, why would they give you their art to bastardize?? I'm happy to block anyone that defends AI "art" usage.

@PCjank to be fair windows itself can be the problem. Especially with how awful its cpu scheduler can be. anyone using a ryzen 9 cpu has probably run into issues at some point with the cpu not behaving properly because windows is too retarded to know what to do with it.

@Injun_king Big brain tip, make a separate steam account for use on the steamdeck, add that account as a friend and set up family sharing. use that account to play games on the steam deck instead of main pc

radeon doesn't really have that "huge" vram capacity if anything ur getting roughly about the same on either card from AMD or Nvidia at each price point/tier at MSRP only real advantage AMD has is Linux driver support. otherwise if u need anything else well, Nvidia is better, Beter video encoder, better software support (because lots of pro apps actually optimize for Cuda and Nvidia but pretty much ignore AMD) heck if u want to make a cloud streaming server for plex/emby/jellyfin, if you don't have a good Intel Igpu, ur best option is either an Nvdia card or an Intel Arc gpu not a radeon card nor AMD's IGPU due to their faulty video encoder.

Tower of Fantasy was already in Development before genshin released, if anything ToF and NTE would still Exist without genshit. when genshin blew up , ToF development shifted to being a Gacha MMO instead of just a traditional MMO, heck despite having gacha in its open world, at its core ToF is extremely different from any other gacha game with how progression and other things are handled.

If you are genuinely worried about Vanguard blue-screening your PC, the solution is incredibly simple: Stop buying $200 DMA cards to cheat in a video game. Riot isn't being "too intrusive," they're finally making cheating have actual consequences. If you ruin competitive matches, you deserve to have your OS wiped.

@JayzTwoCents sadly this isn't a pc exclusive problem, we have games even on mobile and console these days adding in frame gen and frame interpolation features in their games. mostly seen these features crop up on some open world chinese gacha games.

well sort of, though in this case riot is going further beyond and actively targeting hardware itself, there will be a lot of false positives, there's already issues with anti-cheats in games detecting other anti-cheats from other games as a problem. if anything if the DMA card makers spoof hardware ids to look like other SATA, NVME, usb controllers, video capture devices and so on, and then the end user who uses one of those real devices gets falsely detected for having such a thing well its not ending well. Either way the stuff is ridiculous anyways since they could always just implement better anti-cheat on the server side instead of putting malware on the client side. servers will be more expensive that way but it would be a lot more secure and if they had the server side verify everything, they could just block all cheating and have it in a way where u could only bypass it if u have direct access to the servers themselves.

at this point for a lot of future games, if i can't play them on linux they may as well not exist. I'm also having issues with windows being complete dogshit with its scheduler and how it handles things, i'm contemplating on running some games on my windows pc through linux and proton via WSL so i can at least get more control over it as well. shits stupid annoying and cursed as all hell when i have to disable half of my cpu cores on my 7950x3d so windows can stop being retarded at times. If it wasn't for a few apps i would have already switched over to linux on my main rig. I really hope valve's pursuit over linux and the steam hardware pays off and convinces other devs to support it or at least make allow/support proton

technically speaking most gachas that have a skin gacha do something like this, the only crazy part is they give the option for spending fons. that said the reason its being done this way is likely because of royalties for licensing the 918 Spyder from Porshe . if you ever wonder why a lot of Sim racing games get re-releases extremely often and some even get annual releases, while checking back at older versions of the games they get delisted and can't easily be purchased even as early 2-3 years after release its mainly due to the licensing of the cars and branding deals. sadly for legal reasons and stuff we can't really have nice things.

oh for sure, that said i'm still strongly against the crap they are doing, cuz we all know that if they get away with this crap, others will do so too. for me I do have multiple various different expansion cards in my PC for extra usb device, capture card as well as a pci-e m.2 adapters (I ran out of m.2 slots on my motherboard). the capture card and m.2 adapter could potentially get flagged as a false positive on my system despite being legit devices. same time too i don't want any games or applications i've used or play getting hacked by malicious people and given privileges to do things they really shouldn't. recently CPUID got hacked and the hackers injected malware into downloads like HWmonitor (extremely common and useful tool for checking PC stats and sensors for stuff like power and temperature data) same time too a game i play occasionally like Duet Night Abyss (Anime Warframe clone) got hacked and some users during a specific period of time got infected with malware. Stuff like this also just makes me even more skeptical on running things outside of a sandbox to isolate them for safety. I already leave all my other PCs except for my Main one as running linux only. My Main PC is still stuck using windows because of some software I use for 3d modeling and stuff doesn't work properly on linux same with some android emulators they have features that aren't present in linux options like waydroid
