Today’s boredom hits different. The couch feels holy, laziness is the sermon, and games are the only real thing happening. But even in the stillness — thank God the light’s still on.

In the midst of the brethren, my soul feels weary and hollow. Today blends into yesterday, just another ordinary day. Yet I lift my voice: thank You, Lord, for mercy that does not run dry.

Never stop praying

Girl to girl at some point, you have to stop letting your depression win. You have to stop sitting in the same room, replaying the same thoughts, waiting for something to change. Nobody’s coming to save you, it’s on you to save yourself. Get up. Take a shower. Go for a walk. Work on that dream you’ve been putting off. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just start! You owe it to yourself to fight for a better version of you, even on the days when you don’t feel like it. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but every time you get up instead of giving up… that’s progress.

i once heard someone say something that sat heavy on my chest: “healing isn’t convincing people to treat you better. it’s realizing you’re allowed to leave when they don’t.” i didn’t fully understand it then, but i do now.
