@macintogdev @reach_vb Exactly, it isn’t a replacement command for /goal. The tip means: ask Codex to research first, then tell it to set the Goal itself via its internal set_goal tool. E.g. “Research this, formulate the best goal from your findings, then set it and start.”

codex tip: ask codex to do its research first and then use set_goal to set an appropriate goal instead of /goal
It results in massively better prompt and downstream results!
all my prompts would start with requirements gathering and research and once done set_goal

@macintogdev @reach_vb It's not a command or anything, codex can set goals by himself if you ask it to do it, the ability that it can do it was a config, called "set_goal", by now it should be active without explicitly changing the config. Codex nows "goals" really well, you should try it!

I do this with codex all the time. Ask it to review code for bugs and it will tell you all good, tell it there is a bug and it will LOOP AND LOOP and will find issues.
