@macintogdev @reach_vb Exactly, it isn’t a replacement command for /goal. The tip means: ask Codex to research first, then tell it to set the Goal itself via its internal set_goal tool. E.g. “Research this, formulate the best goal from your findings, then set it and start.”

@macintogdev @reach_vb It's not a command or anything, codex can set goals by himself if you ask it to do it, the ability that it can do it was a config, called "set_goal", by now it should be active without explicitly changing the config. Codex nows "goals" really well, you should try it!

I do this with codex all the time. Ask it to review code for bugs and it will tell you all good, tell it there is a bug and it will LOOP AND LOOP and will find issues.

💡Recent insight: gaslighting @claudeai seems to improve code quality >90% of the time. “You overengineered this, there is a simpler way” “There is a smaller delta that buys us most of the benefits” “There is a more elegant way” “This is not architecturally coherent” …before I even read its code. 😆
