@justuseKsharps @BigMeanInternet And daughters have HISTORICALLY had less opportunity than sons so the pendulum needed to swing at some point. I’m sorry I’m not bereft about a group of people getting maybe just a glimpse of the other side of the glass. I hope the pain of inequity leads to empathy!

Fascinating essay. Glad we get down to it at the end. Why not teach sons the importance of hard work and stoicism in the face of setbacks? Did your dad teach you that ordinary white men deserved to be successful?
