I have never felt so shaken. Children are dying of hunger. Falling one after another, like petals of a dying flower. Under our watch. How do you sleep, Presidents, Foreign Ministers, political leaders, diplomats, civil servants - doing nothing to stop Israel’s starvation campaign? PS: Talking politics while dodging genocide perfectly meets the definition of doing nothing.

The sheer intellectual collapse you have to experience to be faced with 122 international aid organisations telling you the same thing... ISRAEL IS STARVING GAZANS... only to decide they are ALL lying & that actually Benjamin Netanyahu, on trial for fraud, is telling the truth.

No Other Land, a film that was wrongfully scandalised as antisemitic in Germany, has won the Oscar for best documentary. This should be a wake up call for the German establishment that human rights apply to victims of Israel too

One of those clips where you have to make sure you're not hallucinating. Donald Trump says Palestinians ought not be allowed to return to Gaza because "why would they want to return? That place has been hell" — next to the grinning man who made it hell.

The IDF said "the overwhelming majority" of those killed in the strike were "terror operatives". But a BBC investigation verified the identity of 68 / 73 ppl killed. Just six were linked to Hezbollah's military wing. 62 were civilians. 23 were children: bbc.com/news/articles/…

My open letter to President Zelenskyy: North Korean soldiers in Ukraine are innocent, forced into a war they never chose. They deserve freedom, not death on foreign soil. Ukraine can save these young lives with psychological warfare—broadcasts, radios, and messages of hope.

#FactCheck A video claiming to show Syrian Minister of Justice Shadi al-Waisi reading execution sentences has circulated online. After thorough verification, including voice and facial matching, it was confirmed that the person in the video is indeed al-Waisi, who was a judge at the time. A senior official from the new Syrian administration further explained that this procedure was part of a previous phase and emphasized ongoing legal reforms. My Alawite mother-in-law in Latakia, #Syria explained to me that HTS soldiers calmed down the large demonstration in Latakia, protesting the burning 🔥 of Khasibi’s mausoleum, by chanting with the demonstrators. She was full of praise for the HTS men, who have been doing the right thing, in her opinion. She is critical of the Alawite demonstrators. Other Alawite friends lament that there is no Alawite leadership and believe that Alawites must find a voice and stand up for their needs. Assad destroyed any Alawite leaders as surely as he destroyed Sunni leaders or those from other Syrian communities.

Who was al-Khasibi? Abu ʿAbd-Allāh al-Ḥusayn ibn Ḥamdān al-Jonbalānī al-Khaṣībī, (D. 957 AD or 346 AH) is considered the highest spiritual authority for the Alawite Muslims in his time, starting from the death of his Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jannan in the year 900 AD AH until his death in the year 957 AD. Al Jannan was a student of Muhammad b. Jundub, who was a student of Muhammad bin Nusair, a close companion of the 10. Imam Ali Ridha and the 11. Imam, Hasan al Askari (D. 874 AD). Therefore he is considered a Central Authority in the Alawite interpretation of cosmic significance of the Imamate. The Imamate is one of the fundamentals of religion for the Alawite Muslims as it is in Shi'ite tradition. According to Alawites, the Imamate is an extension of prophethood and a perfection of it, as stated in the Quran: “This day I have perfected for you your religion, completed My favor upon you, and have approved for you Islam as a religion.” (Quran 5:3) They believe the verse was revealed after the Messenger conveyed the authority of Imam Ali to all Muslims. What makes Al-Khasibi central in the Alawite tradition is that he is a direct spiritual descendant of the Imam via his Master Al Jannan, Ibn Jundub, and Ibn Nusair. Al-Khaṣibi was born in Iraq during the latter part of the third/ninth century and was raised in a Shi'ite household. He received his patronymic from his grandfather, al-Khaṣīb. His father, Ḥamdān, and his uncle, Aḥmad, were both scholars of the Shi'i faith. At the young age, he traveled to Mecca in 282/895 to undertake the pilgrimage or ḥajj. His educational background equipped him with a strong proficiency in Arabic and religious studies, particularly in the areas of Qurʾānic interpretation and ḥadīth. Additionally, he was a gifted poet with knowledge of both jāhilī (pre-Islamic) and Islamic poetry.
