@FastCoDesign yet, looking at the shape, there is absolutely no reason for printing this object beyond the prototyping stage as it can be easily pressed
@redesign@mulegirl@the_lizonline I believe the DT mindset is crucial in transformation. When DT is reduced to a Process, Tools and Workshops (as is often the case) it will fail to deliver. DT empowers people and teams and instills creative confidence. These are superpowers in transformative contexts.
@RemcoLenstra@mulegirl@the_lizonline It also depends on what we mean by transformation. Have you ever led a corporate transformation, or a government dept, an educational system, or a healthcare system? Design Thinking is helpful, but insufficient as an integral frame at whole system levels.
@redesign@mulegirl@the_lizonline Hi peter, agreed on the courage part. Design thinking in itself is very capable of fueling transformation. It's lack of ambition, bias, and compromise that turn it into a tool for incremental (continuous) improvement. A fool with a tool remains a fool
@mulegirl@the_lizonline Design thinking is a generic approach, and has always been more oriented to improvement than transformation. The real issue is getting people who have the understanding and access (power to change) in the room with decisionmakers. That takes time & courage, regardless of method.
According to Hassi and Laakso design thinking is collaborative, holistic, ambiguity tolerant, optimistic and future oriented. Who would you invite to tackle your most wicked problems?
