I know this is unpopular, but it will always be unattractive for a grown man to play video games. Some women might be understanding or pretend like they don’t care that you spend hours playing, but they do. It is extremely unattractive to women and will never not be. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@RinoTheBouncer I don't really have an opinion on whether or not it saved the franchise, but I played the hell out of this game in VR. It was glorious. I didn't think the story was terrible.

Resident Evil 7 was not a good Resident Evil game. It may have paid homage in some elements shared with a plethora of games in the genre, but it strays just as far from the original formula as Resident Evil 5 did🚀 In terms of characters and story, it was cringe and Resident Evil is ALWAYS better when it has heroes we know and love. And also, no. It did not “save” Resident Evil, as RE6 is among the best selling games in the series and its RE2 (2019) that was the return to form, and would’ve happened anyway with or without RE7 and would’ve done just as great. And trying to use this game as proof that Zach Cregger’s movie will be good, is laughable. Fight me🎤 #REBHFun

All of this, plus a huge portion of gamers and moviegoers aren’t intelligent enough to grasp that art can deal with different things that don’t necessarily need to represent everyone or align with any human code or morality. Art can be anything, and it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s “promoting” something, and even if the was, you can very much appreciate an art that is wholly different from you, that you disagree with fundamentally but appreciate how it delivered an idea. Sometimes stories don’t have to represent everyone or align with right and wrong, and they don’t need to be gratifying to you to enjoy them. They just need to tell well-written stories about complex and unique cases, and deliver an idea. You do what you make of it. Sadly a huge portion of gaming and movie audiences aren’t capable of grasping that and they think everything needs to be a classic black and white heroe’s journey and that hero has to be identical to them and in full agreement with their values and archetype

The "significant backlash" that Saros is getting (we'll see if it's actually significant when we get sales numbers) is making me think. A lot of the anti-woke crowd doesn’t actually hate politics in games. They hate not being the default anymore. For years games catered almost entirely to guys, so a certain slice of players got used to every protagonist looking like them and every story orbiting their comfort zone. Now when a game shifts even a little away from that, they act like the medium has been taken over instead of just growing. What they want is sameness dressed up as purity. They want every game to feel like the ones they grew up with, so they never have to think about who else plays games. It is not about loving games as an art form. It is about wanting the industry to freeze in place, so they never lose their spot at the center. This doesn't go for EVERYONE that might align with that crowd though. There are some valid arguments to be made about shoving stupid shit into games just for representation, but I think most of these dudes are too dumb to think that deep.
