This cute guy is Salty Biscuit. He just ran at @SHRP but was injured. His trainer reached out & now he's here. We will rehab his tendon injury as if he was going back to racing, which he is not! He will be a sound, healthy horse ready for a 2nd career in time #planthelanding

Tricky Prospect is a 28-year-old Thoroughbred gelding and a permanent resident of Remember Me since 2016. He’s looking for monthly sponsors to help cover his ongoing care and keep him safe and comfortable in his golden years. You can support Tricky by signing up to donate through retiredracehorses.org on the Sanctuary Horses page. Every dollar makes a difference—thank you for helping us remember him. 💙

We’re asking for help for three very special senior horses whose lives are deeply intertwined—and whose golden years depend on compassionate support.
Tricky Prospect, age 28, is more than a gentle senior horse. He is the trusted guide horse for his best friend, Hero’s Crown. Tricky patiently leads, protects, and reassures Hero every single day, proving that age has only deepened his kindness and sense of purpose.
Hero’s Crown, a 20-year-old blind gelding, navigates the world through trust—trust in people, and especially trust in Tricky. Thanks to Tricky’s steady presence, Hero can move confidently and safely through life despite his blindness. Their bond is unbreakable.
They share a peaceful one-acre paddock alongside Marfalous Friend, a remarkable 30-year-old mare who is not only their neighbor, but Hero’s dam. Marfalous watches over her son from next door, a quiet reminder of the family ties that still matter deeply, even in old age.
At their ages, all three horses require specialized senior care: high-quality feed, joint support, regular farrier visits, and attentive veterinary care. These costs add up quickly, but they are essential to keeping Tricky strong enough to guide, Hero comfortable and confident, and Marfalous safe and pain-free.
What these horses give in return can’t be measured—loyalty, trust, resilience, and a powerful reminder that love doesn’t fade with age.
Your donation, no matter the amount, goes directly toward the daily care that allows this small family to stay together, safe, comfortable, and deeply loved. Please consider donating or sharing their story. With your help, we can honor three lives well lived and ensure their remaining years are filled with dignity and peace.

We love updates on our grads! So do the owners, breeders & trainers who trust their horses with us! Here is Spinner! After his rehab, Spinner was adopted by Christine. He is now training for endurance and will go on his first long ride this summer. @HighlanderTrai3 thank you!

Another RMR horse found a great home today. Miss Carmen was adopted by Libby & will be going to her new home on Saturday. Fun fact: Libby still has her first OTTB who is now 25 years old. She got her when she was 5. #homeforlife #happyhorse #thoroughbredaftercare #RingTheBell

It's easy to see why BLUE DEVIL is a barn favorite. Thank you @MyRacehorse for being one of the many owners/breeders and trainers who work with us to help retired racehorses find second careers!
Blue is currently retraining and will be available for adoption in a few weeks.

Update from Irish Billy's adopter:
I just wanted to give you an update on Irish Billy - is it wrong that I love him so much already?🥰 I'm so glad that I waited for him to come along, as I've never met a kinder, more honest OTTB than Billy. He's so quiet and up for anything I may do with him, isn't at all spooky or silly. He's not tried to shake me down for treats at all since we brought him home. I've been working him in the round pen, on his transitions and flexion. I've yet to find any real holes in him and that's got to be down to the fantastic work his trainer has done with him. The only little hole I've found is that he's a bit scared of being sprayed down for flies, but I'll soon get him over that! He's settling in well with our other geldings and also loves to catch up on the fenceline gossip with the neighbor's horses, mini pony and mini donkey. We're planning on our first group trail ride in a couple of weeks, with plenty of natural obstacles and water crossings. I'd like to take him as I think it would be good for him to get out and about.
Many thanks once again to you and Martha, as you make such a huge impact on setting these OTTBs up for success and onto second careers. I will definitely bring Billy back to visit and take part in one of your obstacle days 😀
