@exit73studios My student film won the “Golden Cow” award (a statue of Super Cow!) The prize was a trip to the @cartoonnetwork studios in LA where I got to meet @GenndyT and @zackmckrakken ! I was to “chicken” to give them my showreel, but they both made me drawings! Congrats with your game!!

Noob Warning: I'm learning how to sculpt in Zbrush AND learning how to compose music. I'd never done either before, and we all need to start somewhere. Here's my progress on both fronts after two weeks. Also, a hint at project codename Lazarus. Meager beginnings to big plans...

This turned out way cooler than I expected. Having the "area reveal" be in stop motion for @PaperKlay Please agree with me 💜

Great example of how even massive, heavy creatures need sharp, quick movements to sell weight. The sharp moves give the perfect amount of space for the jiggle overlap & settle that is soooo satisfying.

Here's a side by side between the two titans. Base Walk cycle vs. the Base Run Cycle. I use these for my shots and then polish them relative to the cam. #GodzillaXKong #Godzilla #animation #3Danimation

// a big boss on a "tiny screen" story - PART 2 10 out of 10 times, if you ask any student animator where they'd like to work, you'll prolly never hear them say the words "mobile game studios" loll It's a pretty hard sell for schools!! ....I mean you pay ten's of thousands of dollars to learn animation and the last thing you want to hear them say is "we'll teach you everything you need to know to get you ready for Mobile Games! -hahha can you imagine if that was their sales pitch!@#? 🤣 ...of course NOT - cause it's a wayyyy easier for them to charge you big moulla 💰to get you ready for AAA Games, Films, AAA Games, Films..... you get the point! Q: Would you pay 30k to get ready for mobile games? or Q: Would you pay 30k to get you ready for AAA Games / Films? ...you know the answer! ;) ----- // coffee break ☕️ about this clip // they call him the Green Death - he's a hugeeee dragon hiding in the mountains somewhere - when you unlock him in-game, this is the reveal anim you'll see. ----- Looking back I can say without a doubt that for most aspiring animators looking to break into the industry, mobile games are a wonderful place to start. I'd even go further to say that even intermediate/pro animators will really enjoy the experience that mobile game studios have to offer. For aspiring animators especially, starting in mobile games will give you the opportunity to grow at a pace that I believe is more suitable than AAA games, TV or Films. Don't get me wrong, some animators ARE ready for AAA Games & Films, but a lot aren't! - No teachers will tell their students this because that would ruin the school's reputation. ...you'll end up learning this truth when you start applying to a whole bunch of studios .....yet you can't seem to land a single job! Animation for mobile games is way more flexible than most other platforms. Tiny screen means animation doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough. ....when you clock in enough "good enough" animations, you'll be amazed to see the progress you'll make! Give mobile games a try, what do you have to lose?

🥲I remember visiting in the early 2000’s when I won a student competition in Amsterdam.. I think you actually welcomed me to the building!!😅 I was so happy to meet my heroes, and too scared to drop my reel! I still have the drawings from Genndy Tartakovsky and Craig McCracken
Brian A. Miller@bfredmuggs

Sadly, this building will no longer be CNS. From what I’ve been told, everyone will be out by August 1. All moving together in a WB building as one animation unit. Farewell CNS as it was.
