@Tenzur_ @thicc_stick_boi That's not how humans work. You still have a base level of strength, and that doesn't really change much from working out. Conor McGregor's left hand wasn't from training, he was born with it. And Butcher is extremely unhealthy, whereas Homelander never drank or did drugs.

I think the writers forgot he fought hand to hand against butcher and soilder boy (trained soilders) pretty decently for having 0 combat training at all while they were powered up enough to fist fight him. I guess somehow he forgot how to throw a punch here.

As a kid he still knew he was pretty much indestructible, hence why they kept doing things even if he begged. As a mortal he was truly afraid for the first time and tried begging as a last effort.

You are correct. He was a corporate asset from birth and treated exactly thus. He craved love and adoration but really had no reference point for it. All he really understood was power dynamics and Vought made him the most powerful human in existence. The big disconnect with the ending is that he learned as a child that begging gets you nothing. It didn't keep him out of the furnace or any other excruciating durability test. It really doesn't make any sense for him to heel-turn when he was suddenly powerless because he already knew what it was to be powerless.
