@acoyne CUSMA compliance mostly is rules of origin for Cda & US goods. As noted some US March tariffs were already in violation. But, if it had concerns about Cda US obligated to consult & seek Dispute Panel ruling. It did not, so, every US tariff violated its obligations under CUSMA.

Tariffs on autos, aluminum, steel and copper are all in violation of CUSMA. The “fentanyl” tariffs are merely in violation of the US constitution.

@boehmerB CUSMA requires there be no new tariffs imposed by Cda, the US or Mexico. There are ways to add new tariffs but it has to be done in keeping with the trade agreement. This all starts with the US violating CUSMA by imposing new tariffs without using the provisions of the agreement.

@CamdenHutchison There is nothing balanced about your statement and the analysis it implies. Both countries are less than perfect with respect to trade. Both have grievances. For ex., both have a form of supply mgmt but Cdns media often leave an impression only we have such protectionism.

And there are still many who don’t regularly check this advice before travelling. But understand frustration feeling someone has put themselves in danger needlessly and requires help.

@MavisnMavis @prairiecentrist @CanadaFP Always difficult to assume someone has travelled to a dangerous area without paying heed to @TravelGoC advisories. Think advisory for Israel moved to only go if travel essential on 20Mar. Avoid all travel advisory issued 13June as bombing started.
