Hungary immediately leaks all EU talks to Moscow. Sijjarto “reported” directly to Lavrov about the EU meetings, - The Washington Post. According to the newspaper, the Hungarian Foreign Minister called Moscow directly during the EU meetings and relayed details of the discussions to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Sources say this communication allowed Russia to stay informed about the internal discussions of the European Union. Sijjarto himself has not commented on the situation. However, he has visited Moscow several times since 2022 and met with the Russian leadership.

🇸🇰 This week, Renew Europe travels to Bratislava to support Progressive Slovakia and its leader Michal Šimečka, whose courage and vision I deeply value. While Prime Minister Fico undermines democracy and damages Slovakia’s competitiveness, Progressive Slovakia remains the only force driving smart economic growth and defending European values. Europe needs builders, not Putin-style sabotage.

In 2024 alone, 🇪🇺 exports to 🇮🇩 reached €9.7 bn, supporting >15,000 European SMEs and 200,000 jobs. The EU–Indonesia CEPA will unlock even greater opportunities. Happy to address EU businesses, as we mark the historic moment of concluding our trade and investment negotiations.

Standing in solidarity matters. For me, the opening of a new European Parliament liaison office in Kyiv is a powerful reminder that Europe stands with Ukrainians who believe in a free, European future. 🇪🇺🇺🇦 It’s both practical and symbolic: the Parliament will be closer to what’s happening on the ground, better able to communicate and respond to the needs of a country resisting Russian aggression for over 3.5 years. 👉 Right now, it is crucial that Slovakia and the EU stand firmly with Ukraine – politically, economically and militarily. Supporting Ukraine means supporting the stability, security and freedom of us all. 🇸🇰🇺🇦 @RenewEurope @Renew_Press

I can only welcome the Commission’s proposal and urge all EU Member States to support it by immediately reintroducing tariffs on Israeli goods and by approving the proposed sanctions against terrorist organisation Hamas, and against Israeli ministers and settlers. Yet, as Parliament underlined in its resolution last week, much more will be needed. Economic sanctions alone are not enough. We must ensure that humanitarian aid reaches every person in need, that all parties involved respect international law and that we begin the path toward a two-state solution by recognizing the State of Palestine—once all hostages have been released and with the clear condition that Hamas play no role in Gaza’s future. reneweuropegroup.eu/news/2025-09-1…
