Russian losses this March have reached their highest level since the start of the war: our drone strikes alone resulted in 33,988 Russian servicemembers killed or seriously wounded, while artillery and other strikes eliminated another 1,363 Russian occupiers. That means more than 35,000 Russian losses in just one month – and these are clearly verified losses. We have video documentation of every such strike in our system. I thank all our warriors for their precision. I will especially recognize the warriors of the Special Operations Center “A” of Ukraine’s Security Service, the “Magyar's Birds,” the State Border Guard Service special unit “Phoenix,” “Lasar’s Group,” and the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade – these are the most effective units in the use of drones. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, briefed me on the performance of all units at the front. We have clear and verified reports for every direction and every type of strike. We are ready to provide the relevant data to our partners. Essentially, Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces have denied the occupier the ability to dictate the situation on the front line. Importantly, the results in the destruction of Russia’s air defense systems have also significantly increased, with 274 such systems hit in March alone. There have also been tangible results in the destruction of Russian depots and military logistics. The Ministry of Defense, together with the Armed Forces, will present a detailed report to the public for March – data that may be made public. I also approved with the Minister today a number of tasks for the coming weeks. In particular, we are preparing decisions to strengthen the Ukrainian infantry, the army contract system, and measures to address AWOL cases – measures that must genuinely work in practice. We are also preparing decisions to scale up the export opportunities of our weapons manufacturers and joint productions with partners. I thank our Defense Forces for the results! Glory to Ukraine!

Trump’s new budget adds an extra $500 billion to fund wars abroad — about $3,700 more for every household in America — while cutting health, jobs, housing, and education. Put simply, it takes more of your money for foreign wars, while making life in America even more unaffordable.

This is terrible for Americans and also hurts national security. Increasing the military budget won’t defeat Iran. What is actually called for — under a sane government — would be a systematic defense review with an eye to less expensive systems that are suited to modern war. Our military budget should actually be much smaller, not just because we should be able to fund what Americans need, but also because the endless unconditional upward appropriations — DoD has never passed an audit — encourage monopolies in the private sector and outdated military doctrine. We create a situation where we pay nationally disabling amounts of money so as not to be ready for actual war. Our security suffers in every sense. There is moral blackmail involved here (“support the troops”) and it has to be faced down. We don’t support the troops by taking health care from their families. And we don’t support them by mindlessly giving ever more money to ever fewer defense contractors without thinking about what war means and how it is fought in the 2020s.

That's because they do things like this, destroy civilian infrastructure, which, just to be clear, is a war crime. Let me walk you through what happened one hour before Trump announced the five day moratorium on Iran strikes. $1.5 billion in notional S&P E-mini futures contracts. Four to six times normal activity. One hour before the announcement. Simultaneously, $192 million in crude oil futures purchased at the same time. They made between $300 and $400 million dollars off those trades. Trump claimed he spoke to an Iranian official to negotiate the moratorium. The Iranians said that person doesn't exist and the conversation never happened. This is not the first time. It has happened multiple times. He says something. The trade goes on. He says another thing. The market moves. But whatever you call it — they are laughing at you and they are laughing at me while they do it. Hunter Biden sold a painting and Washington lost its mind. These people are making hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars trading on information that only exists inside the most powerful office in the world. I think we are dramatically underreporting how much money is actually being made here. This isn't politics anymore. This is a financial operation running out of the White House.

The whole Iran war is looking more and more like a gimmick to drop energy sanctions on Russia and pressure Europeans to do the same. A war to make Russia’s much larger war easier and possible to sustain.
