📢 Local schools are facing a growing need for more athletic trainers to support student athletes, and the reality is that many programs still do not have a full-time AT on site. This gap in care shows just how essential athletic trainers are to keeping young athletes healthy, safe and able to compete with confidence. Athletic trainers are highly trained allied health care professionals who provide injury prevention, emergency care, evaluation, treatment and rehab, all with the goal of helping athletes stay on the field and return to play safely. Their presence means faster response to injuries, better communication with coaches and families and peace of mind for athletes and communities. The demand for ATs is growing across schools, clinics, industry and tactical settings, and the impact they make every day shows how rewarding and meaningful this profession can be. This National Athletic Training Month we celebrate the life-changing work of athletic trainers and encourage more people to consider a career that makes a real difference. Fellow ATs, never doubt the impact you have on the students & families you serve. I’ve had 3 interactions with parents of past athletes in recent days thanking me. I often feel like I need to do more & I am overwhelmed. Know we are providing “care you can count on” #NATM2026

@chadasplund Certainly something that I think we're very good at. But I also think it hinders us at times. "Why make things better if they're able to do what they need to do by improvising?"

Adaptability: I think one reason that ATs face burnout is the constant need to adapt. Adapt to changing schedules. Adapt to different coaches’ communication desires, adapting to different protocols, adapting to do the best we can in inadequate facilities with inadequate resources

It’s time school administration begin to understand how much is asked of the AT. To truly support them with proper staffing and proper resources. Support them with career development via quality CEUs and ensuring they are members of their professional association.
