@NBCSSharks @Sheng_Peng None of top draft eligible D-men Reid, Carels, etc are NHL ready and won't be for at least 2 to 3 years and won't make an impact for at least 4 - 5 years. So unless the Sharks see a franchise type #1 d-man in these two, it's not worth the wait.

I will say, Dellandrea’s best moments with the Sharks have come when his roster spot has been in jeopardy, and that is definitely the case right now. Maybe we’ll see something from him tonight

Yeah that’s what I was worried about. At this point, I’m just hoping he can keep it up for at least 3 years of this contract, but it will be an anchor sooner or later

@ProfHockeyYT I think the bigger issue is that no one on the Canadian D-Corps besides Makar can reliably move the puck out of the defensive zone or pinch in to keep the play alive in the offensive zone.

And here I thought Celebrini would be able to relax a bit. Turns out Canada needs to lean on him almost as much as the Sharks do. Also, would be nice to have another offensive RHD so Makar didn’t have to play this much

Misa, who has been one of the Sharks best forwards this game, has played all of 2 minutes and 32 seconds this third period. For comparison, Ostapchuk has played 5 less seconds than him

@ProfHockeyYT This has to be a purposeful BS rumor from the Rangers designed to get a team like the LA Kings (who really want Panarin) to up the ante to land him. There’s no way the Sharks would take on Panarin when Will Smith is younger, better version of a playmaking/scoring winger.

@halfwall_hockey Great post, great analysis The wailing and gnashing of teeth on Sherwood is very overblown. Like most trades, there are a range of probable outcomes ranging from helping propel the Sharks into the playoffs and signing an extension to flaming out and walking next season.
