The Northside Fire Station at 624 East 4th Street was constructed in Reno in 1917. Designed by Frederic DeLongchamps, it was vacated by the Reno Fire Department in 1950. The building still stands but the front has been extensively remodeled. renohistorical.org/items/show/237

The Ginsburg Clock was installed in front of the Ginsburg Jewelry Co. at 133 N. Virginia Street in 1935. It was moved to the Park Lane Mall in 1967 and to its current location in front of Reno City Hall in 2012. renohistorical.org/items/show/244

Guido Pincolini hired architect Howard Brandis to design the mid-century modern commercial building at the corner of South Virginia and Mary Streets in 1953. Guido's son Bert Pincolini still has an office in the MidTown building, which opened in 1954. renohistorical.org/items/show/279

The 40 Mile Saloon at the corner of Mt. Rose & South Virginia Streets in MidTown began in 1937 as a service station and market with a brick porte cochere covering the gas pumps. It was later known as the Office Bar, Eddie's Corner Bar, and Mr. O's. More at renohistorical.org/items/show/134

Reno's Alturas Bar opened at the corner of East 2nd & Lake Streets in 1915. In 1948 the business moved to its current location at 1044 East 4th Street, a building originally erected in 1926 for the Reno Hide & Fur Company. More at renohistorical.org/items/show/277. Photo by Nick McCabe.

The Evans Mansion that once stood just south of @unevadareno was constructed in the middle of an alfalfa field in 1878 for Newt Evans & his wife Elizabeth, became the first SAE house in 1924, and was replaced in 1953 by the current SAE house on Evans Ave. renohistorical.org/items/show/275

Offering homestyle Southern favorites, Kiah Lumpkin's Squeeze Inn was at 344 N. Virginia Street from the late 1960s to 1980s. Its first location at 220 Lake Street opened in 1964 and gave the eatery its charming name. Much more information & images at renohistorical.org/items/show/266.

With 2023 commencement underway at @unevadareno we recognize one of the campus historic gems, Lincoln Hall, which opened as a men's dorm in 1896 and reopened in 2016 as offices for the Departments of Sociology, Communication Studies, and History. More at renohistorical.org/items/show/72

The building housing the @ClubCalNeva at 38 East 2nd Street has a rich history, constructed in 1914 to house the Palace Dry Goods House, run by Wilhelm Levy. It became the palatial Club Fortune in 1937 and Club Cal-Neva in 1948. More info and photos at renohistorical.org/items/show/253.
