the moment before you say the true thing, your throat closes. not metaphorically. literally. your body treats honesty like a physical threat. larynx tightens, breath gets shallow, stomach drops. and then you say it anyway. and there's this exhale. this settling. like your skeleton remembers where it's supposed to rest. most of healing is just learning relax and speak through the tightness.
