Renters' Voice joined members of Croí for Change at their campaign wrap up event this afternoon. Over the last year Croí for Change campaigned positively against illegal letting fees & Northern Irelands ongoing affordability crisis. We wish all members the best going forward!

DFC has launched its consultation on Notice to Quit periods & exceptions under the PTA 2022. The exceptions will allow landlords to provide less notice due to arrears, ASB/criminal behaviour, or if the landlord (or their family) need to use the property.

💻Read our latest news - Renters' Voice view on illegal letting fees. This year, @RentersVoice participated in Housing Rights annual Private Rented Sector 2025 conference. The conference brings together tenants, landlords, estate agents, politicians, government officials and the advice sector to discuss pressing issues within the private rented market. Renters’ Voice member Jenni Millar spoke on behalf of the group regarding our concerns about illegal letting fees. 🔗Read more: housingrights.org.uk/professionals/…

**New Blog** Today's blog outlines Renters' Voice view on the rise of illegal letting fees and how other groups such as Croí for Change are raising concerns. We believe the law surrounding letting fees must be clearer, more robust, and enforced. housingrights.org.uk/professionals/…

📣New blog on our website by @RentersVoice The Renters’ Rights Act has recently received Royal Assent in Westminster and will be implemented in England from 1st May 2026. The act is a welcome advancement of tenants' rights within the UK and has brought an end to “No Fault” or Section 21 evictions in England, mirroring similar legislation introduced in Scotland in 2017. The Bill does not apply to Northern Ireland, but we believe it contains changes that would and should be considered by the Minister for Communities to strengthen the protection of private renters in Northern Ireland. 🔗Read more: housingrights.org.uk/professionals/…

This #HomelessnessAwarenessWeek we want to focus on an issue that a lot of private renters are facing i.e. no-fault evictions. No-fault evictions not only impact a renter's living situation, they also impact their mental health, well-being and finances. For some renters, these evictions lead to #homelessness. @RentersVoice explains no-fault eviction in this short video. Learn more about Renters' Voice: housingrights.org.uk/support-us/ren…
