In Tennessee, we are a state of law and order, and we will always strive to keep criminals off of our streets! We will ALWAYS be tough on crime, to make Tennessee a safe place for all of our residents and visitors.

2023 pride highlights featuring behavior that is “not grooming” nor pedophilic

HB551 enacts the “Adoption and Foster Care Omnibus Bill”, which makes various changes to adoption and foster care by eliminating red tape

HB164 requires DCS to transfer guardianship of an infant to a certified adoption agency if left at a Safe Haven location. It would also allow a court to waive the six-month waiting period to finalize an adoption of a baby who was surrendered under the safe haven law.

The passage of HB9 prohibits individuals from performing adult cabaret entertainment on public property where the entertainment can be viewed by a minor. We are proud to protect the innocence of children, and make TN a state free of the sexualization of minors.

This week, I will be highlighting the steps that Republicans have taken to protect children here in Tennessee. The passage of HB1 protects children from being subjected to gender-altering medical procedures, and prohibiting healthcare providers from performing these procedures.

Economic development was a central part of our annual budget this year, and I am proud of the progress that we have made. This includes: - $5M allocated to cleanup of environmental hazards -$10M in historic development grants -$103M ECD Fast Track Grant funds

In this session’s budget, education was also a priority. We allocated $125M towards teacher raises, with the goal of $50,000 base salary by 2026. Additionally, $1B was granted to the TN Board of Regents for TCATs, which included $386M for new buildings, and $147M for new campuses

Continuing on this week’s theme of budget highlights, TN State Legislature prioritized school safety in our budget. Here’s how: -$140M to fund school resource officers in every school across the state - $40M in school safety grants - $8M in behavior health liaison grants

This fiscal year, I am proud that we have cut taxes in Tennessee by over $400 million. With $124M in business tax cuts and $273M in 3-month food sales tax, Tennessee continues to be leading the nation in limiting taxes.

On June 6th, 1944 American and Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to fight for freedom and democracy across the world. We will never forget the unimaginable sacrifice made by the men who faced and conquered evil on D-Day.

I am deeply saddened to learn about the sudden loss of my colleague Rep. Bill Beck. Representative Beck was a wonderful father, husband, and a strong voice for Tennesseans.
